I'm just as surprised as anyone that the Mets are fresh off a series in which they took three of four games from Albert Pujols and the Cardinals, but I'm not ready to be impressed until I see them at least take two from the Yanks.
The last series, as we all know, should have been dominated by the Mets, but a misplayed popup by Luis Castillo and a lack of velocity by Johan Santana saw the Mets drop two games that series.
The misfit Mets that took the field against St Louis will be hard pressed to maintain that level of play against the Yanks.
That's not to say that they'll roll over, because these guys seem to get it more than any of the injured regulars- play hard and good things will happen.
If the Mets do take two of three, or dare I say sweep, Joe Girardi will be the most talked about manager in MLB, if he's not already, in terms of job security.
VFC says "Let's Go Mets!" for the Subway Series that begins tonight!
Any chance we'll see Alex Cora batting cleanup tonight?
