What is going on with MLB managers pulling starters who are pitching at the top of thier game for a pinch hitter?
Jerry Manuel pulled John Maine in the FIFTH INNING in Maine's only decent start of the season.
Tonight, Dan Haren was pulled after six when he was dominating the San Fransisco Giants.
It's ridiculous and it's no wonder that the bullpens are a mess these days.
Not to mention the fact that both pitchers are on my fantasy team and I need some Ws.

The respect that Gary Sheffield receives from around the league is undeniable.
The other night Sheff drew a pinch hit walk on some borderline pitches that were called balls and the same pitches were called strikes for Jose Reyes when he came up next.
I guess either the umps are taught to respect their elders or a smaller strike zone is a perk for years of service.
===================
Carlos Delgado is off to an MVP start. I called that one wrong, although the season is still young.
Just when Justin Verlander looks like he's getting it together, the lowly Mariners pounce on him for five runs.
The Yanks will be hard pressed to take their division. It looks like everyone is getting hurt in the Bronx and The Rays look to be for real.
And Boston desperately needs Big Papi back.
